Play Therapy

Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate form of mental health treatment that helps children express feelings, work through challenges, and build healthier ways of coping.

Services are provided for children ages 3–12 who may be experiencing a range of emotional, behavioral, or adjustment-related concerns.

The approach is warm, supportive, and tailored to each child’s unique needs, strengths, and stage of development. Every child has strengths, and with the right support, growth is possible.

Caregiver involvement is an important part of the treatment process and may include consultation, collateral sessions, and general feedback as appropriate to help support progress outside of sessions.

Play therapy is one of the ways child therapy may be provided. More information about play therapy, including how it works and why it can be helpful, can be found under the Play Therapy section.
